CHEMEX 6-Cup

Coffee: 46g, med-coarse grind  -  Water: 710g Water (205 Degree F)  -  Brew Time:    4-5 minutes

  1. Rinse filter with hot water. Pour out rinse water.

  2. Add ground coffee to filter, shake gently to level coffee grounds.

  3. Pour 80 grams of water evenly over the grounds - Avoid edges of filter. 

  4. Let coffee degas and ‘bloom’ for 45 seconds.

  5. Continue the pour in a steady spiraling pattern. Try to avoid pouring directly in the center  or around the edges of the filter. If the water level nears the rim of the Chemex, pause for a moment to let it drain before continuing. Stop pouring once you’ve run out of water. You’re aiming for 3 mins of pouring and a total 4-5 mins drip through completion.

  6. Remove and toss your  filter, swirl the coffee around inside the chemex and serve!
