The Story Behind the Name: Laughing Bird Coffee 

At Laughing Bird Coffee, our name is more than just a brand—it’s a tribute to nature, family, and the joy that coffee brings. The inspiration comes from a special place in Black Mountain, Old Australia, where my mother lived in a classic Queenslander-style home surround by the beautiful vistas of the Noosa Hinterland.

A Visit from the Laughing Birds

One of the most memorable parts of that home was the daily visits from kookaburras—the charming, mischievous birds known for their distinctive laugh-like call. Perched on verandas and nearby trees, these feathered visitors brought life and energy to the mornings, their playful “laughter” echoing across the hills. Though cute, they were anything but quiet! Their bold personalities and unmistakable calls became a beloved part of my mums daily routine.

When it came time to name our business, we wanted something that reflected warmth, vibrancy, and connection—the same feeling you get from sharing a great cup of coffee with friends. The kookaburra’s laughter perfectly embodies this, representing the way coffee brings people together with joy, conversation, and shared moments.
