Established in 1987, Finca La Flor is located in Nicaragua’s Matagalpa department near the Jinotega border, on the slopes of the Peñas Blancas mountains just north of La Dalia. The 20-manzana (14-hectare) farm is owned and operated by Don Haroldo Altamirano.

The farm primarily grows Marsellesa and Catimor varieties. Ripe cherries are hand-picked and processed as both washed and natural coffees—this lot is fully washed. The cascara (coffee husk) is also separated and offered as a tea.

The Altamirano family has a long history of resilience through growth, loss, and rebuilding. They are currently developing a health clinic to serve workers and their families. The region was heavily impacted by Hurricanes Eta and Iota in 2020, prompting Ernesto and Southern California Latino community leaders to organize relief efforts for Nicaragua and other affected areas.
